Biography

Rich is competitive.  We mean really competitive.  Golf.  Basketball.  Fantasy Football.  Checkers.  It doesn’t matter.  Rich does not like to lose.  Just ask his brother.  Although he doesn’t subscribe to Ricky Bobby’s mantra, “if you ain’t first, you’re last,” he comes pretty close.

As the son of a Vietnam veteran and air traffic controller who moved frequently, Rich learned to adapt at a young age. By the time he reached 6th grade he was in his 6th school in his fourth state in his third time zone. Each move offered new challenges in new environs and sharpened Rich’s ability to adapt to changed circumstances and relate to people from all backgrounds in all walks of life. Because he likes to compete, Rich treated each of these moves as a personal challenge to overcome – and as anyone who knows the Samdal family can attest, competition is in their life blood.

Rich has called West Michigan his home for over thirty years, but he has never forgotten the lessons learned from his early years of moving from state to state and school to school. Whether it is representing families in disputes over trusts and wills, assisting those faced with guardianship or conservatorship proceedings, or helping businesses resolve disputes, Rich’s competitive fire (he really does HATE to lose) has fueled success for clients throughout Michigan and beyond, including matters tried in courts in Florida, Illinois, Utah and Wyoming.  Trust us.  You want Rich on your team.
